When I was a kid, my dad never sat me down and had
"the talk" with me. I'm not exactly sure why he never did this, but
I can guess. I think he dreaded it so much that he just kept
putting it off. One day he realized that I was simply too old and
he just let it go. To be fair, I wasn't knocking on his door asking
him questions. As much as he didn't want to have "the talk" with
me, I didn't want to have "the talk" with him. I guess is was a
mutual decision. But, for both of our sakes, it was a conversation
we NEEDED to have. Now, this Sunday, we will NOT be talking about
the "Birds and The Bees." But we will be discussing a subject that
most pastors avoid. They don't want to preach it. Most people don't
want to hear it. Leave it to Pastor Dave to broach the
uncomfortable subjects! As we work through our series on 'This Is
Church' we are going to talk about something that everyone needs to
hear. And, actually, I don't think it will be uncomfortable at all.
It's going to be fun and challenging as together we live life
together; equipping each other to live the mission of the gospel.
