This past week, a friend was telling me about an
unexpected blessing. From out of the blue, some anonymous
benefactor gave his family a $100 gift card for a local restaurant.
He was so incredibly blessed and shocked. He just didn't see it
coming. Last week, we began our four week series in the book of
Ruth. (If you were gone, I think you'd be greatly encouraged if you
would listen to the podcast by clicking here). And last week we saw
that, in chapter 1, Naomi was convinced that a sovereign God had
abandoned her in bitterness. But in chapter 2, we're going to see
how God drops an unexpected blessing into Naomi's lap. Life is like
that, isn't it? Just when we think we've got things all figured
out, God unexpectedly drops a blessing into our lives. It might be
a material, physical, or spiritual blessing. It might be an
envelope filled with just the right amount of cash to keep the
lights on. Or it might be something as innocent as a baby. Just
when we think that God has left us alone, he unexpectedly shows up
into our lives, and he pours out his loving kindness. This Sunday,
I pray that you're prepared to look deep into your heart, to see
just how the Lord God Almighty might unexpectedly be working in
you! As always, I can't wait to see you Sunday. Pastor
