There Is Only One

One of my personal goals is to find a way to

intentionally make Jesus Christ the Lord of every area of my life.

For instance, I once had Philippians 4:19 scribbled on the inside

cover of my check book. That verse says, "And my God will meet all

your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." What

a great reminder when I am paying bills. In the same vein, I wish I

could find away to etch the following words on the top my

electronic calendar each day: "If it is the Lord's will..." Those

words are from James 4:15. James tells us that instead of

arrogantly making plans each day, we should remember that God is

ultimately in control of what happens. We can make plans, but God

is really the Master Planner. This Sunday we will have a great

reminder that God is God and we are not. There is only one God.

This truth is one of the most encouraging things we can ever

encounter. Reminding ourselves of God's sovereignty is precious,

enriching, and comforting. I can't wait to delve into God's word

together this Sunday. In Christ, P.Dave
