There are certain things that I've never understood
about college sports. Universities spend big dollars to bring in a
winning coach. That coach, of course, wants a contract, because he
wants the security of knowing he'll be paid for years to come. If,
before the end of his contract, the University wants to get rid of
the coach, it is forced, by terms of the contract, to pay out the
remainder of that coach's salary. But generally speaking if a coach
decides that he wants to leave for a better job, he isn't held to
the terms of his contract. Most universities just let the coach
walk away. Did you know that God had a contract with His people?
He's promised to bless and care for them. In turn, they promised to
follow Him, obey Him, and walk in obedience to His commands. Now
God always fulfills His promises. But what happens when His people
do not hold true to their part of the contract? Sunday, we are
going to find out together. And we are going to find out how the
resurrection of Jesus enables us to walk whole and uprightly in our
covenant relationship with God. I can't wait to see you on Sunday!
